MG HS PHEV vs Haval H6 PHEV in Pakistan: Price, Specs

MG HS PHEV

The plug-in hybrid SUV market in Pakistan is gaining momentum, with two strong contenders — the MG HS PHEV and the Haval H6 PHEV.

Both models aim to combine efficiency, performance, and modern technology, but they differ in pricing, performance figures, and features. Here’s a detailed comparison to help buyers decide which option suits them best.

Price in Pakistan

Price is often the deciding factor for many buyers. The MG HS PHEV is priced at Rs 9,899,000, making it the more affordable option.

On the other hand, the Haval H6 PHEV comes with a higher price tag of Rs 12,895,000, reflecting its more powerful specs and advanced features.

Engine and Performance

Both SUVs feature a 1.5T Turbo engine paired with an electric motor, but the performance output is significantly different.

The MG HS PHEV delivers 280 HP and 480 Nm torque, while the Haval H6 PHEV produces a remarkable 360 HP and 760 Nm torque, giving it a noticeable edge in raw power.

When it comes to acceleration, the Haval H6 PHEV claims a 0–100 km/h time of 4.8 seconds, compared to the HS PHEV’s 7.1 seconds. However, Haval has clarified these figures are based on ideal conditions, meaning real-world performance may vary.

Electric Range and Efficiency

The Haval H6 PHEV leads in electric driving capability with a range of 100 km (NEDC), double the 50 km (WLTP) range offered by the MG HS PHEV. In terms of fuel efficiency, the H6 also shines with 91 km/L (NEDC combined) compared to the HS PHEV’s 58.8 km/L (WLTP combined).

Transmission

The MG HS PHEV uses a 10-speed automatic transmission, while the Haval H6 PHEV is equipped with a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), designed specifically to optimize hybrid driving.

Safety Features

Both SUVs come with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and collision warnings.

However, the Haval H6 PHEV stands out with extra safety features like brake override, hill descent assist, and autonomous parking, which are not available in the MG HS PHEV.

Conclusion

The MG HS PHEV is a more budget-friendly choice for those seeking an entry into the plug-in hybrid segment, offering decent performance and features at a lower cost.

Meanwhile, the Haval H6 PHEV justifies its premium price with superior power, longer electric range, and enhanced safety technologies, making it a strong option for buyers who prioritize performance and advanced features.
