IM5

MG Motor Pakistan is reportedly gearing up to expand its electric vehicle lineup with the arrival of its first all-electric sedan and a brand-new electric SUV.

After introducing a pickup and an electric hatchback, the brand appears ready to strengthen its EV portfolio in Pakistan.

Although the company has not officially confirmed the launch, recent sightings of the vehicles at the port and dealership locations strongly suggest that a debut could be imminent.

The two vehicles expected to enter the market are the MG IM5 sedan and the MG IM6. Both models were recently spotted at an MG dealership, including units seen at MG Capital, while the IM6 has also reportedly been observed at the port.

These developments have fueled speculation that MG is preparing to introduce premium electric offerings for Pakistani buyers. However, pricing, booking details, and official specifications for the local market remain undisclosed.

We can look at the international features of the models to expect what could the local models feature.

MG IM5 Electric Sedan – Performance Meets Technology

The MG IM5 is positioned as a technologically advanced electric saloon combining sleek design, intelligent driving systems, and impressive performance.

International specifications suggest a WLTP driving range of up to 441 miles, along with rapid DC charging that can take the battery from 10% to 80% in around 17 minutes. Acceleration is equally striking, with a 0-62 mph sprint in about 3.2 seconds.

The dual-motor setup produces up to 751 horsepower and 802 Nm of torque, delivering supercar-like performance.

Built on an 800V architecture, the IM5 also promises ultra-fast charging. Features such as four-wheel steering enable a turning circle under 10 meters, improving maneuverability in tight city conditions.

Inside, the cabin features a 26.3-inch ultra-wide touchscreen paired with a 10.5-inch vertical display, supporting wireless smartphone connectivity.

Advanced driver assistance systems, surround-view monitoring, and Rainy Night Mode enhance safety and visibility, while one-touch intelligent driving assists with parking and complex maneuvers.

MG IM6 Electric SUV – Intelligent Powerhouse

The MG IM6 brings similar innovation in SUV form. It offers up to 388 miles of WLTP range and rapid charging capability using an 800V platform.

The dual-motor variant generates up to 751 horsepower and accelerates from 0-62 mph in around 3.5 seconds, making it one of the most performance-focused electric SUVs.

The IM6 also features deep vehicle intelligence, continuously analyzing road conditions to improve comfort, handling, and safety.

A large 26.3-inch immersive display dominates the dashboard, while four-wheel steering helps reduce the turning circle to about 10.18 meters. Automated precision driving technology further simplifies parking and tight-space maneuvering.

With EV demand gradually rising in Pakistan, the potential arrival of these two models could significantly expand premium electric choices. Would you consider an electric sedan like the IM5, or does the IM6 SUV suit Pakistani roads better?
