Actress Mia Goth has opened up about the intense and transformative experience of working on Star Wars: Starfighter, describing the project as one of the most challenging yet rewarding of her career.
The Frankenstein star, who is reportedly playing a villainous character, stars alongside Ryan Gosling, Amy Adams, Matt Smith, and Aaron Pierre in the highly anticipated Shawn Levy-directed film.
In an interview with Elle, Goth shared that filming has pushed her artistic limits in unexpected ways.
“It’s really intense, but I love it,” she said. “I’m being pushed in a way that I’ve never been pushed before. This is a completely separate film, not a prequel. It’s its own thing, with new characters. And it’s a great script — a really great script.”
Director Shawn Levy also praised Goth, calling her one of the most unique talents in Hollywood.
“We needed a singular actor to play a fiercely complex new character within the Star Wars galaxy,” Levy explained. “Mia is a unicorn of an actress. You can’t ask for a ‘Mia Goth type’ — there’s only Mia.”
While the plot remains under wraps, Star Wars: Starfighter is confirmed to be a stand-alone story set five years after 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker**.
The film is slated for a global theatrical release on May 28, 2027, and fans are already buzzing about Goth’s dark and mysterious new role in the iconic Star Wars universe.
