Pop sensation Miley Cyrus has offered a heartfelt glimpse into the challenges of touring the world, describing the experience as both exhilarating and deeply isolating.
In a candid interview with CBS Sunday Morning, the Flowers hit-maker reflected on the emotional toll that constant travel and performing can take.
“A lot of the time your family is not with you. So, mostly, you are alone,” said Miley, 32. “You spend these nights where thousands of people are telling you they love you, and then you lay down at night and there’s nobody.” Her words highlighted the emotional contrast between the glamour of fame and the loneliness behind the scenes.
Miley Cyrus went on to discuss the physical and mental strain of touring, comparing it to being an athlete. “You’re an athlete, but they have seasons and teammates. As a solo artist, it’s just you,” she explained, emphasizing the pressure that comes with being the central focus of every performance. “You can’t replace you — and it’s too much pressure,” she added.
The Hannah Montana star also revealed her least favorite aspects of life on tour. Miley admitted she dislikes “living out of a suitcase,” saying she prefers her clothes neatly hung and the freedom to choose her outfit each morning. She also confessed that wearing the same outfit every night quickly becomes exhausting.
