Karachi, November 25, 2025 — Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan on Tuesday formally inaugurated the 3rd International Food and Agriculture Exhibition, FoodAg 2025, at the Expo Center Karachi.

The three-day event is being held under the theme “Harvesting Innovation, Cultivating Sustainability,” showcasing Pakistan’s growing potential in the global food and agriculture market.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by TDAP Chief Executive Faiz Ahmad, Secretary Sheryar Taj, senior officials, diplomats, and business delegations from several countries. More than 350 leading Pakistani exporters have set up stalls displaying a wide range of the country’s finest agricultural and food products.

Exporters are showcasing premium basmati rice, fresh mangoes, kinnows, dates, Himalayan pink salt, seafood, halal meat, dairy products, spices, and value-added foods to over 800 pre-qualified international buyers arriving from more than 80 countries.

Speaking to the media, Jam Kamal Khan said the participation of 850 delegates from Europe, Africa, the Americas, ASEAN, China, Bahrain, and other regions reflects the “strong global confidence in Pakistan’s export potential.” He emphasized that Pakistani companies have demonstrated excellent performance in recent years and stressed the need to strengthen partnerships to expand Pakistan’s footprint in global markets.

The commerce minister highlighted that Pakistan’s key economic indicators have improved, with inflation and the policy rate declining. The government, he said, is providing maximum support to exporting sectors, while negotiations on several Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) are underway.

He also underlined progress in African markets and growing trade ties with Bangladesh, noting that Pakistan is addressing challenges at both macro and micro levels in consultation with trade and industry stakeholders.

Commenting on regional security, the minister reiterated that Pakistan’s primary concern is the use of Afghan territory against Pakistan. He stressed that cross-border security is essential and that Pakistan will be compelled to take action if threats persist.

The FoodAg 2025 exhibition features pre-arranged B2B meetings, nine high-level conferences on sustainability and traceability, and a Pakistan Cuisine Pavilion, where 21 celebrity chefs from five continents are presenting live culinary demonstrations using local ingredients.

TDAP expects the event to generate over $1 billion in business, create thousands of jobs, and develop long-term trade linkages benefiting farmers, producers, and exporters nationwide. The buyer delegation includes top importers from Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, Canada, the USA, and Russia, marking one of the largest international participations for a food exhibition in Pakistan.
