Islamabad, July 17, 2024 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) announced on Wednesday that moderate monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are penetrating the upper and central parts of the country. In addition, a westerly wave is expected to affect these regions starting tonight.
The Pakistan Met weather forecast for Thursday, July 18, 2024, indicates that these monsoon currents will bring rain, windstorms, and thundershowers to several areas. The affected regions include upper and central Punjab, the Pothohar region, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, southeast and lower Sindh, and northeast and south Balochistan. There is also a possibility of isolated heavy falls during this period. Meanwhile, hot and humid weather is expected to prevail in other parts of the country.
Pakistan Met said on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, the weather is forecasted to be mainly hot and humid across most regions. However, the monsoon currents may cause rain, windstorms, and thundershowers at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pothohar region, northeast Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, southeast and lower Sindh, and northeast and south Balochistan.
Over the past 24 hours, hot and humid weather dominated most parts of the country. Nonetheless, rain, wind, and thundershowers occurred at isolated places in northeast Balochistan, southeast and lower Sindh, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan Met added.

• Balochistan: Zhob recorded 15 mm of rainfall.
• Sindh: Diplo 6 mm, Chachro 5 mm, Dahli 3 mm, and Mithi 1 mm.
• Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Kalam 2 mm.
• Gilgit-Baltistan: Gupis 1 mm.

• Nokkundi: 48°C
• Dalbandin: 46°C
• Lasbella and Turbat: 45°C
