Islamabad, August 4, 2025 – The capital is shaking under a monsoon mayhem! Thundershowers have taken Islamabad by storm, turning the city into a weather battleground, and there’s more on the way.
According to the latest Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) alert, the monsoon fury is far from over.
On Monday night, Islamabad and nearby areas are bracing for rain-wind/thundershowers, possibly with isolated heavy falls—probability at 60%. By Tuesday, the action intensifies, with an 80% chance of widespread downpours lashing the region. The monsoon season is in full swing, soaking the capital and keeping residents on edge.
The PMD warns that a seasonal low over north Balochistan, combined with invading monsoon currents and a westerly wave, is fueling this meteorological madness. While hot and humid conditions grip most of the country, Islamabad stands out as a prime target for nature’s wrath.
In the last 24 hours, Islamabad recorded 20mm at the airport and 13mm in the city, as thunderclouds roared overhead. Surrounding cities like Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Sialkot also saw intense showers. Meanwhile, searing heat continues in places like Dalbandin and Nokundi, hitting a scorching 44°C.
With the monsoon spell strengthening, more drama is expected across Islamabad and upper regions of Punjab, KP, and Kashmir. The skies are rumbling, and the monsoon bonanza shows no signs of slowing down. Whether it’s the downpour or the drama, Islamabad is right at the center of this weather whirlwind!
