The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather report indicating the continuous penetration of monsoon currents into the country from the Bay of Bengal. Additionally, an influencing westerly trough is expected to persist in the upper parts of Pakistan over the next few days.

The PMD predicts rain, strong winds, and thundershowers in the following regions:

Warnings:

1. Urban Flooding: The PMD warns that heavy rains may lead to urban flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Gujranwala, and Lahore during the period from 22nd to 26th July.

2. Landslides: The heavy rainfall may trigger landslides in vulnerable areas such as Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, and hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the forecast period.

3. Flash Flooding: Kashmir, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Manshera, Abbottabad, and Rawalpindi/Islamabad are at risk of flash flooding from 22nd to 26th July. Additionally, hill torrents in Dera Ghazi Khan and northeast & south Balochistan (Barkhan, Kohlu, Sherani, Harnai, Bolan, Loralai, Khuzdar, Lasbella, Kech, Awaran, Pasni, Ormara, Gwadar, and surrounding areas) are likely to experience flash flooding on 22nd and 23rd July.

4. Water Logging: Low-lying areas of Lower Sindh (Tharparkar, Umarkot, Mirpur Khas, Sanghar, Khairpur, Kashmore, Ghotki, Naushahro Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad, Matiari, Hyderabad, Tando Allah Yar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Badin, Thatta, Sajawal, Karachi, and Hyderabad) may face water logging during 22nd to 24th July.
