Morgan Motor Company Launches Super 3 in United States

Morgan Motor Company announced the launch of their latest vehicle, the Super 3, in the United States. After its successful debut in February 2022, the arrival of the Super 3 marks Morgan’s much-anticipated return to the American market, embodying the brand’s renowned individuality and unconventional spirit.

With the initial batch of vehicles already present in the country, interested customers can now visit authorized Morgan dealerships to view, test drive, and place orders for the Super 3. Notably, the US version of the vehicle has undergone certain modifications to comply with federal homologation requirements, while still maintaining its retrofuturistic charm.

The most noticeable change is the redesigned front light configuration, featuring headlights integrated within the vehicle’s body shape. Additionally, new taillights, turn signals, and reflectors have been added to meet federal regulations.

The Morgan Super 3 introduces Morgan’s inaugural in-car navigation system, featuring a specially designed bracket to securely hold a Beeline GPS device. This GPS device seamlessly connects to a smartphone app, providing convenient and reliable navigation capabilities within the vehicle.

Enhanced Power and Performance for Thrilling Drives:

The engine of the Morgan Super 3 has received notable improvements compared to its predecessor. Sourced from Ford, the powerplant is a 1.5-liter three-cylinder that delivers impressive performance.

It generates 118 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 110 pound-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm, surpassing the previous model’s output of 82 horsepower and 103 pound-feet of torque. The sole gearbox option available is a five-speed manual, which shares the same unit as the Mazda MX-5 Miata.

Morgan claims that the Super 3 can accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 7.0 seconds and achieves a top speed of 130 mph. In terms of fuel efficiency, the company expects the combined fuel economy to reach 40 miles per gallon, demonstrating the vehicle’s impressive balance between power and economy.

Exterior Enhancements and Versatile Design Features:

The exterior of the Morgan Super 3 showcases a few modifications specifically tailored for the US market, where it is classified as a motorcycle. Notably, the headlights have been repositioned to the center, differing from the European version where they were closer to the wheels.

Compliance with federal requirements has prompted the introduction of new taillights, turn signals, and reflectors. To further enhance functionality, the Super 3 features sideblades that serve the dual purpose of directing air to the radiators and providing a mounting point for accessory rails.

Additionally, a rear luggage rack offers an additional space to secure cargo, while the tail opens up to reveal extra storage capacity. To personalize the Super 3 according to individual preferences, the configurator is readily available for customers to specify their ideal setup.

Interior Features and Customization Options:

The interior of the Morgan Super 3 is designed with simplicity in mind. The dashboard features a clean layout, housing two digital gauges positioned at the center. Buyers have the choice between black or silver anodized finishes to surround these gauges, allowing for a personalized touch.

The seats offer a range of material options, including vinyl, water-resistant leather, technical fabric, and saddle leather, which is known for its durability. For added comfort during colder weather, an optional footwell heater is available to keep occupants warm. The interior of the Morgan Super 3 combines functional design elements with customizable features, ensuring a comfortable and tailored driving experience.
