According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the city is likely to experience cold and dry weather with the possibility of morning frost on Thursday, December 26, 2024.

The PMD has forecasted that Islamabad and its surrounding areas will witness very cold and frosty conditions during the early hours of the morning. The weather on Wednesday night is also expected to remain extremely cold and dry, marking a continuation of the current cold spell gripping Islamabad.

Islamabad, in particular, will experience very cold mornings with frost expected in isolated areas. Additionally, hilly areas in Kashmir and adjoining regions may witness partly cloudy weather with chances of light rain or snow during the evening or night hours. Smog and fog patches are likely to persist in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during morning and night hours. The Pothohar region, including Islamabad, as well as parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, are also at risk of morning frost.

Past 24 Hours Weather Summary: Over the last 24 hours, most parts of the country, including Islamabad, experienced cold and dry weather, with very cold conditions recorded in hilly areas. Smog and fog patches persisted in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh.

Lowest Recorded Temperatures: Notable minimum temperatures were recorded across the country, with Leh dropping to -13°C, Skardu to -11°C, and Astore and Gupis reaching -8°C. Gilgit recorded -7°C, while Quetta and Ziarat registered -6°C. Other areas, including Hunza, Bagrote, and Dir, saw temperatures plummet to -5°C. Islamabad remains notably colder than usual, adding to the frosty ambiance expected in the coming days.
