Nat Sciver-Brunt Dominates Women’s ODI Rankings with Match-Winning Century

England’s batting sensation, Nat Sciver-Brunt, has firmly secured her status as the top-ranked batter in the MRF Tyres ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings.

Her remarkable century in the final ODI of the ICC Women’s Championship (IWC) series against Sri Lanka not only propelled England to a commanding 161-run victory in Leicester but also sealed the series at 2-0.

Sciver-Brunt’s sensational 74-ball innings of 120 has catapulted her to a career-best 807 rating points, marking her as the highest-rated England woman player in ODIs since July 2009, when Claire Taylor and Sarah Taylor achieved 814 and 812 points, respectively.

In the most recent weekly update, which accounts for the pivotal final match of the IWC series featuring Pakistan and South Africa, Pakistani batters Bismah Maroof and Sidra Ameen have risen in the rankings by three spots each following their crucial roles in Pakistan’s emphatic eight-wicket win in Karachi.

Bismah now claims the 22nd position with her unbeaten 60, while Sidra holds the 25th rank after her impressive 68-run knock.

Among Pakistan’s bowlers, notable improvements have been made by Nashra Sundhu (up one place to 15th), captain Nida Dar (up two places to 19th), Diana Baig (up one place to 24th), and Sadia Iqbal (soaring up by 13 places to 50th) in the rankings.

South Africa, who secured a 2-1 series victory against Pakistan, also witnessed their players Tazmin Brits (climbing 11 places to 62nd) and Nadine de Klerk (rising by an impressive 16 places to 85th) making significant gains in the batting rankings.

While Sciver-Brunt claims the top position among batters, she ceded her leading spot in the all-rounders’ rankings, slipping to third. Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner has now regained the coveted number one position, with West Indies’ Hayley Matthews securing the second spot.

Sri Lanka’s Hasini Perera has displayed a remarkable surge, climbing an impressive 26 places to secure the 57th position in the rankings, thanks to her consistent scores of 31 not out and 32 in the last two matches.

England’s off-spinner Charlie Dean is another standout performer from the series, as her career-best haul of five for 31 in the third ODI has propelled her to a career-best 12th position.

Leg-spinner Sarah Glenn, who claimed five wickets in the series, has also made significant strides, climbing 12 places to secure the 52nd position.
