Islamabad, June 8, 2025 – The National Assembly of Pakistan has officially locked in June 10 as the date for unveiling the much-anticipated budget for the fiscal year 2025–26.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has confirmed and approved the comprehensive session schedule for what is expected to be one of the most critical and closely-watched budget presentations in recent years.

The Assembly will convene on June 10 for the formal presentation of the Federal Budget, setting the stage for an intense and strategic debate over the country’s financial direction. This budget will lay the foundation for Pakistan’s economic recovery and growth amid mounting fiscal pressures and international expectations.

According to the schedule, the Assembly will take a brief recess on June 11 and 12, after which the full-scale budget debate will begin on June 13. Speaker Ayaz Sadiq emphasized that all parliamentary parties will be allotted adequate time to participate, ensuring a robust and inclusive discussion in line with Assembly procedures.

The general debate on the budget is set to continue until June 21, with all voices in the House expected to weigh in on the government’s economic priorities, revenue measures, and public spending plans. The Assembly will not convene on June 22.

On June 23, the focus will shift to charged expenditures for 2025–26, a key segment that outlines mandatory government expenses. This will be followed by heated deliberations on Demands for Grants and Cut Motions on June 24 and 25—critical steps in shaping the final contours of the budget.

The climax of the session will occur on June 26, when the Finance Bill 2025—the legal backbone of the entire budget—will be put to vote. The final day, June 27, is reserved for discussions and approvals related to Supplementary Grants and other significant financial matters.

The National Assembly is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping Pakistan’s economic path, and all eyes will be on the floor as the government seeks approval for its fiscal blueprint in a high-stakes political and economic environment.
