Sharjah, September 30, 2025 – Nepal scripted history by clinching their maiden T20I series win against West Indies, securing an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match contest.

The emphatic victory in the second game came by a massive 90-run margin, underlining Nepal’s growing stature in international cricket.

Batting first, Nepal posted a competitive 173/6 after a shaky start at 43/3. Aasif Sheikh anchored the innings with an unbeaten 68 off 47 balls, while Sundeep Jora smashed 63 off 39 deliveries to give their side momentum. For West Indies, Akeal Hosein (2/21) and Kyle Mayers (2/26) bowled well, but they couldn’t prevent Nepal from finishing strongly.

Chasing 174, West Indies faltered badly. Their innings collapsed under relentless pressure from Nepal’s bowlers, with Aadil Ansari claiming 4 wickets and Kushal Bhurtel bagging 3. The Caribbean side managed just 83 runs, with Jason Holder’s 21 being the highest score. The disciplined fielding and sharp catching from Nepal ensured there was no escape route for their opponents.

After the match, captain Rohit Paudel lauded his team’s all-round effort, praising the bowlers’ fiery powerplay and the batsmen’s resilience. “The credit goes to the boys,” Paudel said, adding that this historic triumph means a lot for cricket in Nepal.

Meanwhile, West Indies skipper Akeal Hosein admitted his team failed to adapt to conditions, highlighting Nepal’s unity and execution as the key difference.

With one game left, Nepal are eyeing a clean sweep. Player of the Match Aasif Sheikh summed it up best: “Cricket is a festival in Nepal, and we want to make it 3-0 for our supporters.”
