Netflix has released the official trailer for its highly anticipated crime mystery series, “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder,” which is set to debut on August 1, 2024.

Adapted from Holly Jackson’s bestselling novel, the series centers on Pip Fitz-Amobi, portrayed by Emma Myers (notable for her role in “Wednesday”). Pip embarks on an investigation into the five-year-old murder of schoolgirl Andie Bell.

Despite the town’s widespread belief that Andie was killed by her boyfriend Sal Singh, Pip is determined to unearth the truth, revealing the dark secrets hidden within Little Kilton.

The star-studded cast includes Anna Maxwell Martin, Gary Beadle, Mathew Baynton, Asha Banks, Raiko Gohara, Yali Topol Margolith, Jude Collie, and Zain Iqbal. The narrative draws inspiration from the real-life Adnan Syed case, mirroring its intricate investigation and the relentless pursuit of justice.

“A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” is a six-part series created by Poppy Cogan for the BBC, featuring writing contributions from Zia Ahmed, Ajoke Ibironke, and Ruby Thomas. Direction is helmed by Dolly Wells.

The production team includes Florence Walker as producer, with Matthew Read, Matthew Bouch, Frith Tiplady of Moonage Pictures, Lucy Richer & Danielle Scott-Haughton for BBC, along with Dolly Wells, Holly Jackson, and Poppy Cogan serving as executive producers. Filming took place in and around Somerset, England, adding an authentic British backdrop to the story.

The series is set to premiere on BBC in the UK on July 1, 2024, before its international release on Netflix a month later. Emma Myers expressed her enthusiasm for the role on Instagram, stating, “I’m just trying to find out the truth.”

With its gripping plot, talented cast, and real-life parallels, “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” promises to captivate audiences and spark discussions on justice and the complexities of truth. Fans of crime mysteries and Holly Jackson’s novel will eagerly await its release, marking their calendars for a summer of suspense and intrigue.
