Cook added that both players and support staff have made significant efforts in recent months, building a squad with depth and a variety of options that can adapt to different opponents and conditions—factors he believes will be crucial in progressing beyond the group stage.
The Netherlands have been placed in Group A, where they will face Pakistan, Namibia, USA, and defending champions India. The Dutch secured their World Cup berth through the Europe Qualifiers, finishing alongside Italy.
This will mark the Netherlands’ seventh appearance at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Their debut came in 2009, when they famously stunned hosts England in the tournament opener. The Scott Edwards-led side will begin their 2026 campaign against Pakistan on February 7 in Colombo.
