Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone has appeared in a new leak, with fresh renders and a video offering one of the clearest looks yet at what could become the company’s first foldable smartphone.
The device, widely referred to in rumours as the iPhone Ultra, has been the subject of increasing speculation in recent months as reports point to a potential launch alongside Apple’s next-generation flagship smartphones.
New Renders Showcase Foldable Design
A newly released video from technology YouTuber Jon Prosser of Front Page Tech presents detailed renders of the alleged foldable iPhone in black and white colour options.
According to the leak, those could be the only colours available when the device launches.
The renders show a book-style foldable design featuring a dual-camera system housed within a camera module that resembles the design language of the iPhone Air lineup.
An LED flash is positioned alongside the camera sensors within the raised camera housing.
Ultra-Thin Profile Highlighted
One of the most notable details from the leak is the device’s reported thickness.
The iPhone Ultra is said to measure just 4.5mm when unfolded, making it thinner than the current iPhone Air, which is reported to be 5.6mm thick.
The video also suggests the foldable will feature a wider aspect ratio than many competing Android foldable devices.
Focus on Crease Reduction
The foldable display is expected to feature a nearly invisible crease, a longstanding challenge for foldable smartphone manufacturers.
According to the leak, Apple may achieve this through a heavily engineered hinge mechanism designed to minimise display deformation when folded.
While Apple has not confirmed any details, reducing the visibility of the crease has been a recurring theme in reports surrounding the company’s foldable ambitions.
Rumoured Specifications
The leaked information points to several flagship-level specifications, including Apple’s next-generation A20 Pro processor, 12GB of RAM and the company’s C2 modem.
The foldable device is also expected to feature the dedicated Camera Control button introduced on recent iPhone models.
Possible September Unveiling
Industry rumours continue to suggest that Apple could unveil the foldable iPhone Ultra alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series during its traditional September launch event.
Apple has not publicly acknowledged the existence of a foldable iPhone, and the leaked designs remain unverified.
However, the growing number of reports and supply-chain leaks suggest the company may be preparing to enter the foldable smartphone market for the first time.
