New Zealand crush Zimbabwe to win Test series 2-0

Bulawayo, August 9, 2025 – New Zealand completed a dominant 2-0 Test series sweep against Zimbabwe with an innings and 359 runs victory in the second match.

This emphatic result marks New Zealand’s biggest win by an innings in their cricket history and the third-largest in Test cricket overall.

A day after Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, and Henry Nicholls scored centuries to give the visitors a commanding 476-run lead, the New Zealand bowlers wrapped up the match on day three. Debutant Zakary Foulkes starred with 5/37 in Zimbabwe’s second innings, taking his match figures to 9/75 – the best ever by a New Zealand bowler on Test debut.

Matt Henry, who had already claimed a five-wicket haul in the first innings, finished the series with 16 wickets at an average of just 9.12, earning him the Player of the Series award. Conway was named Player of the Match for his brilliant 153 runs in the first innings.

Under stand-in captain Mitchell Santner, New Zealand won the first Test by nine wickets before sealing the series in Bulawayo. This tour also included a T20I triangular series featuring South Africa, where the Black Caps remained unbeaten, edging the Proteas by three runs in the final.
