Nicole Kidman is setting her sights on transforming Nashville into a hub for Hollywood productions, with longtime friend Reese Witherspoon backing the idea.
Kidman, who has called Nashville home since 2008, recently hosted a special Q&A session titled Nicole Kidman: Where Art Meets Home in Nashville on September 21. Speaking at the Nashville Film Festival at the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Oscar-winning actress shared her vision for bringing more film and TV projects to the city.
“I’ll be bringing more and more production here. Reese Witherspoon lives here too, and she’s one of my best besties,” Kidman told the audience. While she ruled out the possibility of relocating Big Little Lies to Tennessee, she emphasized that Nashville offers immense opportunities for future productions.
Highlighting the local talent pool, Kidman praised the city’s skilled crews, actors, and supportive community. “I feel it’s really taking off and will continue to take off, so off we go,” she said enthusiastically.
On the work front, Kidman recently wrapped filming the first season of Scarpetta in Nashville and is already gearing up for production on Season 2, further cementing her commitment to growing the city’s film industry.
With Nashville emerging as a creative hotspot, Kidman and Witherspoon’s efforts highlight how Hollywood stars can reshape local culture, jobs, opportunities, and global recognition.
