Karachi, August 12, 2025 – In a significant step toward boosting international trade, the National Logistics Corporation (NLC) has partnered with DP World to launch “Pakistan Mart” in Dubai, a massive commercial hub offering over 500 outlets for Pakistani exporters to display and sell their products in a tax-free environment.

Speaking at the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), NLC Director General Major General Farrukh Shehzad Rao explained that the initiative aims to enhance trade routes connecting Central Asia, Russia, China, and Tashkent via road freight. He added that the project will also allow goods to be transported back to Pakistan at discounted rates, benefiting both exporters and importers.

“This region has a high and growing demand for Pakistani products, and our business community must seize this opportunity,” said Maj Gen Rao. Highlighting NLC’s role as the country’s largest logistics enterprise, he assured KATI members of complete support in accessing global markets, particularly in China, Russia, and Tashkent.

KATI President Junaid Naqi praised the initiative, stating that Pakistan Mart in Dubai will not only increase exports but also generate much-needed foreign exchange. He said this project will address long-standing barriers faced by Pakistani exporters in reaching Central Asian markets and lauded Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir for prioritizing trade facilitation.

DP World Vice Chairman Fakhar Alam revealed that Dubai’s government is providing land and infrastructure for Pakistan Mart free of cost as a goodwill gesture. “The project will operate with zero taxes, duties, or VAT,” he noted, adding that visa assistance and logistics will be jointly managed by NLC and DP World. The facility will feature display centers, showrooms, and warehouses, enabling direct re-shipment of goods to global destinations from Dubai.

KATI Deputy Patron-in-Chief Zubair Chhaya commended NLC’s modern logistics and engineering capabilities, calling Pakistan Mart “a golden opportunity” for expanding businesses. He emphasized that strong logistics infrastructure is vital for national prosperity and urged NLC to extend its services to small-scale Pakistani manufacturers so they too can benefit from this landmark project.
