Islamabad, January 12, 2025 – The National Logistics Corporation (NLC) and DP World have announced a groundbreaking partnership to revolutionize logistics and delivery systems in Pakistan. This strategic collaboration is set to raise the bar for the country’s logistics industry, promising significant economic benefits and improved connectivity.
A press release issued on Sunday highlighted the transformative potential of this historic agreement. According to officials, the partnership aims to modernize logistics infrastructure, create job opportunities, and facilitate trade, ultimately boosting Pakistan’s regional and global trade standing.
The partnership was celebrated at a grand event held in Karachi, where Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World, served as the chief guest. Senior officials from NLC, DP World, government representatives, and business leaders were also in attendance.
Addressing the gathering, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem expressed his delight in joining hands with NLC, Pakistan’s leading logistics organization. He termed the partnership a landmark moment for the country’s logistics sector, emphasizing that the collaboration combines NLC’s local expertise with DP World’s global logistics capabilities.
“The synergy between DP World and NLC will enhance trade volume, improve global competitiveness, and create thousands of jobs in Pakistan,” Sulayem stated. He also underscored DP World’s reputation as a global leader in smart trade and logistics and pledged substantial investment to bring global standards and practices to Pakistan.
One of the key components of this partnership is the development of modern logistics parks across Pakistan, which will serve as hubs for efficient supply chain operations. Additionally, the container movement between Jebel Ali Port in Dubai and Karachi has already commenced, facilitating smoother trade routes.
NLC Director General, in his welcome address, expressed optimism about the collaboration’s long-term benefits. He emphasized the potential to attract foreign direct investment and position Pakistan as a major trade hub in the region. He further noted that this partnership would foster innovation and modernize the transportation sector, particularly through enhanced land routes with neighboring countries.
Under the agreement, two joint ventures have been launched: one focused on improving supply chain efficiency and the other on modernizing road freight transportation. Together, these ventures aim to streamline trade, bolster infrastructure, and significantly advance Pakistan’s logistics landscape.
