Karachi – The upcoming elections of the Customs Agents Association are moving ahead in a peaceful and organized manner, with no visible signs of conflict or tension.
According to Haji Asif Sakhi, Leader of the Customs Agents Alliance, the long-standing issue of 46 cancelled licenses has now been resolved, and only 12 licenses are still awaiting reinstatement. He credited the Alliance for making strong efforts to settle the matter and reassured that the pending licenses will also be restored soon.
Sakhi accused rival groups of deliberately spreading misleading information in an attempt to gain cheap publicity. He urged the customs community not to fall for such propaganda, stressing that the majority of agents remain united and confident in the Alliance’s leadership. “This is why the Karachi customs community stands firmly with us,” he stated, adding that merit-based decisions and transparent policies are at the heart of their mission.
He further explained that the elections, scheduled for September 27, are being conducted with remarkable enthusiasm and commitment from association members. The positive environment reflects the growing confidence of agents in the leadership of the Alliance.
Calling for unity, Sakhi appealed to all members to ignore rumors and focus instead on ensuring the success of the democratic process. “On September 27, the results will speak for themselves,” he said, expressing complete confidence in the strong backing of the customs community and the smooth conduct of the polls.
