Nothing is set to unveil its Phone (4a) series on March 5, and the teaser campaign has now offered the first official look at one of the upcoming devices. Following weeks of leaks and speculation, the new model appears to retain the brand’s signature semi-transparent design while introducing notable visual and hardware upgrades.
The Phone (4a) continues the distinctive aesthetic that has defined previous Nothing smartphones, but with a more exposed lower rear section and a dual-tone finish. The device is expected to launch in multiple color options, including white, black, blue and pink, reinforcing the brand’s focus on design-driven identity within the mid-range segment.
One of the most significant changes is the introduction of the new Glyph Bar, replacing the earlier Glyph Interface. The updated lighting system features six square LED modules positioned near the camera island, each containing nine individually controllable mini-LEDs. These programmable lights are designed to deliver brighter illumination and expanded customization, supporting notifications, alerts and visual feedback features that have become central to Nothing’s user experience philosophy.
Design refinements extend to the physical controls as well. The Essential key has reportedly been relocated to the left-hand side of the device, separating it from the power and volume buttons on the right. This adjustment is expected to improve usability and reduce accidental presses.
Leaked specifications suggest the Phone (4a) will feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smooth visuals and enhanced responsiveness. Performance is tipped to be powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, positioning the device competitively within its category.
Camera hardware is expected to include a triple-lens system with a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom and an 8MP ultrawide camera. The device may also pack a 5,400mAh battery supporting 50W wired charging, promising extended endurance for daily use.
With anticipation building ahead of launch, the Phone (4a) series is shaping up to deliver a blend of bold design, upgraded lighting technology and balanced performance.
