Budget-focused smartphone confirmed for July 7 debut with Android 16 and AMOLED display
British smartphone maker Nothing has confirmed that its upcoming Phone (4b) will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, ahead of the device’s official launch on July 7.
The company revealed the chipset detail through its social media channels but stopped short of naming the exact processor. However, recent benchmark listings suggest the Phone (4b) will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 system-on-chip, positioning the device as an affordable offering in Nothing’s growing smartphone portfolio.
The Phone (4b), whose design was unveiled last week, retains the company’s signature transparent-inspired aesthetic but appears to target the budget segment more aggressively than previous models.
According to a Geekbench listing, the smartphone is expected to come with 8GB of RAM and run Android 16 out of the box. The listing also indicated performance figures consistent with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor.
Industry reports suggest the Phone (4b) will feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smoother scrolling and improved responsiveness for gaming and multimedia consumption.
In the camera department, the device is rumored to include a 50-megapixel primary rear camera, while storage options are expected to include 128GB and 256GB variants.
Battery life is likely to be a key selling point, with reports indicating a 5,400mAh battery, which would place the device among the larger-capacity smartphones in its category.
The launch comes as Nothing continues to expand its product lineup and strengthen its presence in the competitive mid-range smartphone market. The company has gained attention in recent years for its distinctive designs and software experience, helping it stand out from larger rivals.
While official pricing and complete specifications remain undisclosed, more details are expected at the company’s launch event on July 7.
