OGDCL discovers gas and condensate at Tando Allah Yar, Sindh

OGDCL gas

Islamabad, February 19, 2026 — Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), Pakistan’s leading exploration and production company, has announced a significant gas and condensate discovery at its Dars West-3 well in Tando Allah Yar, Sindh.

The well, drilled to a depth of 2,100 metres in the C-Sands of the Lower Goru Formation, was successfully tested using OGDCL in-house technical expertise.

Testing results revealed that Dars West-3 flowed at 9.70 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas and 580 barrels per day (BPD) of condensate at a choke size of 36/64 inches, with a wellhead flowing pressure of 1,725 psi. These results underscore the substantial hydrocarbon potential of the Lower Goru Formation in the Dars West area, enhancing OGDC’s domestic resource base.

The discovery highlights OGDCL ongoing commitment to aggressive exploration, efficient reservoir evaluation, and timely development of Pakistan’s indigenous energy resources. Plans are underway to lay pipelines connecting the new well to the KPD-TAY processing plant. Once operational, the produced gas will be processed and fed into the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited network, contributing to national energy supply and supporting energy security.

The Dars West Development and Production Lease (D&PL) Joint Venture is led by OGDCL as the operator with a 77.5 percent working interest, while GHPL holds the remaining 22.5 percent, reflecting successful collaboration in expanding Pakistan’s hydrocarbon production capacity.

This discovery marks a milestone in OGDCL exploration portfolio and reinforces the company’s strategic role in strengthening Pakistan’s energy sector.
