Karachi, February 16, 2026 – The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) announced a major enhancement in oil production at its Kal Field in District Chakwal, marking a significant achievement in its ongoing production optimization program.

In a disclosure submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), OGDCL stated that the KAL-03 well, previously producing around 50 barrels per day (BPD) under natural flow, has seen production rise to 750 BPD following a successful workover operation.

The workover included Multistage Physico-Chemical (MPC) treatment and the installation of an Electric Submersible Pump (ESP), interventions designed to maximize output from mature wells. This achievement reflects OGDCL’s strategic focus on enhancing productivity and sustaining output from aging oil fields.

OGDCL officials emphasized that the enhanced production will contribute positively to the company’s overall output and revenue, while also supporting Pakistan’s domestic energy supply. The company continues to prioritize technological upgrades and field interventions to unlock untapped potential in its oil reserves.

The disclosure was made in compliance with Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015, and clause 5.6.1 (a) of PSX regulations, ensuring transparency and timely communication with investors and stock market participants.

Analysts noted that OGDCL’s successful workover at Kal Field demonstrates the company’s commitment to leveraging advanced extraction techniques to optimize production, reduce dependency on imports, and strengthen Pakistan’s energy security.
