Islamabad, January 31, 2026 — The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has announced an increase in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices, adding further pressure on household budgets amid rising inflation.
According to an official notification issued by Ogra, the price of domestic LPG has been raised by Rs6.37 per kilogram. Following this increase, the cost of an 11.8-kilogram household LPG cylinder has gone up by Rs75.71.
As per the revised rates, the new price of an 11.8 kg LPG cylinder has been fixed at Rs2,667.40, while the per kilogram price of LPG has been set at Rs226.05. Ogra confirmed that the updated prices will come into effect from February 1, 2026.
The regulator stated that the revision was carried out after considering prevailing market dynamics, international price trends, and supply chain costs. Ogra emphasized that LPG prices are reviewed regularly in line with changes in import parity prices and distribution expenses to ensure transparency in the pricing mechanism.
The latest hike is expected to increase the financial burden on domestic consumers, particularly low- and middle-income households that rely heavily on LPG for cooking purposes. In addition, the rise in prices may also impact small industries, roadside eateries, and the hotel sector, where LPG is widely used as a primary fuel source.
Energy analysts warn that continued increases in LPG prices could contribute to higher food and service costs, further fueling inflation. Consumers have urged the government to introduce relief measures or subsidies to cushion the impact of rising energy prices on the public.
