Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter Reconcile Publicly at Grammys

Entertainment World

Pop stars Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter have seemingly put an end to their long-rumored feud, delighting fans after being spotted embracing and chatting at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

The reported rift between the two singers began in January 2021, when Rodrigo released her debut single Driver’s License.

The emotional ballad featured the lyrics: “And you’re probably with that blonde girl / Who always made me doubt”, leading fans to speculate that the “blonde girl” in question was Carpenter, allegedly linked to Rodrigo’s ex-boyfriend and fellow Disney star, Joshua Bassett.

Interestingly, Rodrigo had initially referred to a “brunette girl” in the song’s demo version, but later changed the lyrics, further fueling speculation of Carpenter’s involvement in the love triangle.

Shortly after Driver’s License went viral, Carpenter released her own single Skin, which many interpreted as a response.

With lines like “Maybe ‘blonde’ was the only rhyme” and “Maybe we could’ve been friends if I met you in another life,” fans were quick to connect the dots. However, Carpenter later denied the song targeted Rodrigo, saying it was about not letting others get under her skin.

Joshua Bassett also found himself at the center of the drama. In mid-2020, he released Anyone Else, a song fans believed was inspired by Carpenter.

Bassett described the song as reflecting the complicated feelings of falling for someone you’re not supposed to. In an interview, he shared a moment when a friend told him, “I’m sure you’ll find someone else,” to which he replied, “I don’t want anybody else, that’s not the point—I want them.”

After years of fan speculation and social media chatter, the 2025 Grammys brought a welcome surprise: Rodrigo and Carpenter warmly interacting, suggesting any tension between them has finally cooled.

Fans celebrated online, with one posting, “OMG WAR IS OVER,” and another declaring, “THEY WORKED IT OUT ON THE REMIX.”

Their heartfelt reunion at music’s biggest night marks a new chapter for both stars—and possibly, a future collaboration.
