Hollywood star Orlando Bloom is choosing positivity in the aftermath of his separation from global pop icon Katy Perry.

The Pirates of the Caribbean and Lord of the Rings actor opened up about the breakup during his recent appearance on Today with Craig Melvin, where he was promoting his latest film, The Cut.

When asked how he was coping, Bloom, 48, emphasized gratitude over heartache. “I’m great, man. I’m so grateful,” he shared, highlighting the joy he finds in raising their 5-year-old daughter, Daisy. “We have the most beautiful daughter. You know, when you leave everything on the field like I did in this movie? I just feel grateful for all of it.”

The actor, who has long been admired for his grounded outlook, made it clear that there’s no animosity with Perry. “And we’re great. We’re going to be great. Nothing but love,” Orlando affirmed, underscoring their commitment to co-parenting peacefully.

Reports of the split first emerged in late June, with representatives confirming the separation on July 3. Sources close to the couple told People magazine that Katy intends to maintain a respectful bond with Bloom, especially since their daughter’s well-being is their top priority.

The pair’s romance began after they met at a Golden Globes afterparty in 2016. Despite a brief split in 2017, they reunited and welcomed Daisy on April 26, 2020.
