PAK vs WI: PCB announces squads for ODI and T20I Series

Lahore, July 25, 2025 – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the squads for the upcoming white-ball series against the West Indies, which includes three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

The matches will be played in the United States and the Caribbean during late July and early August.

According to the PCB, wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan will captain the 16-member ODI side, while Salman Ali Agha has been appointed captain for the T20I squad. The ODI series will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad & Tobago on August 8, 10, and 12, while the T20I series is scheduled for July 31, August 2, and August 3 at Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill, USA.

In the ODI squad, young right-handed batter Hasan Nawaz has received his maiden call-up, while seasoned stars such as Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Mohammad Nawaz make their return. The PCB selection committee has opted for a mix of experience and emerging talent, aiming to strengthen Pakistan’s lineup ahead of key international tournaments.

For the T20I squad, pace trio Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Hasan Ali return to action, adding strength to the bowling attack. Salman Ali Agha will lead a dynamic 15-member side that includes exciting players like Saim Ayub, Abrar Ahmed, and Khushdil Shah.

The PCB confirmed that the team will arrive in the USA on July 27, following the completion of their Bangladesh tour. The squad announcements reflect a strategy focused on rotational player management and preparing bench strength.

The PCB also released the full list of team management and support staff for the tour. The board emphasized that the selected squads are well-balanced and designed to perform across both formats against a competitive West Indies side.
