Pakistan Banks to Close on July 3 for Public Transactions

In a recent statement, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that commercial banks across the country will remain closed for public Transactions on Monday, July 3, 2023.

This decision has been made in observance of the designated Bank Holiday.

The SBP, serving as the central bank of Pakistan, has directed all banks, including Development Financial Institutions and Microfinance Banks, to suspend public transactions on the aforementioned date. However, it is important to note that bank employees will continue to report to work as per their regular schedules.

This temporary closure is part of the routine operational measures taken by the SBP to ensure smooth banking operations and facilitate necessary maintenance activities. While public services will be temporarily affected, the internal functioning of banks will continue as usual, guaranteeing uninterrupted services for customers once the Bank Holiday concludes.

By implementing this measure, the SBP aims to maintain the efficiency and integrity of banking services in Pakistan. Customers are advised to plan their financial activities accordingly and utilize digital banking channels during this brief period of restricted public dealing.

As per the SBP’s announcement, normal public transactions and banking services will resume on the subsequent business day, ensuring minimal disruption to the general public’s financial needs.
