Islamabad, January 18, 2026 — The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has released the nationwide weather forecast for Monday, January 19, 2026, highlighting continued cold and dry conditions across much of the country.

Synoptic Situation

According to the PMD, a shallow westerly wave is currently affecting the northwestern regions of Pakistan, influencing weather patterns in upper areas.

Weather Outlook for Sunday

Cold and dry weather is expected to prevail in most parts of the country, while very cold conditions are likely in hilly regions. Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir may experience partly cloudy skies, with chances of light rain or light snowfall at isolated locations during the evening or night. Meanwhile, moderate to dense fog is likely to persist over Punjab, upper Sindh, and the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which may reduce visibility.

Weather Forecast for Monday

The cold spell is expected to continue on Monday, with dry weather in most areas and very cold conditions in mountainous regions. Partly cloudy weather is forecast for upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir, where isolated light rain or snowfall may occur later in the day or at night. Foggy conditions are again expected over Punjab, upper Sindh, and the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During the last 24 hours, cold and dry weather dominated most parts of Pakistan, while hilly areas experienced very cold and partly cloudy conditions. Moderate to dense fog remained widespread across several districts of Punjab, upper Sindh, and the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
