Pakistan Claim Top ODI Ranking Despite Asia Cup Loss

Pakistan has catapulted itself to the pinnacle of One-Day International (ODI) cricket, clinching the coveted No.1 spot in the International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings. This remarkable ascent owes its gratitude to Australia’s recent stumble against the Proteas.

With an impressive tally of 3,102 points, Pakistan now proudly dons the crown as the premier ODI team in the ICC rankings. Their remarkable journey to the summit has spanned 27 matches, accumulating a commanding rating of 115.

Despite securing a victory in the Asia Cup 2023, India fell just short of the top position. Meanwhile, Australia, the former reigning champion at No.1, has now slipped to the third spot after a recent setback against South Africa. Determined to reclaim their former glory, the Kangaroos have contested 28 matches.

The battle for supremacy is poised to escalate as India and Australia gear up for a highly anticipated three-match series commencing on September 22.

This clash presents them with a golden opportunity to regain their status as the kings of ODI cricket. The series kicks off in Mohali, followed by encounters in Indore on September 24 and Baroda on September 27.
