Dubai, December 21, 2025 — Pakistan Under-19 emerged as champions of the Under-19 Asia Cup after registering a resounding 191-run victory over arch-rivals India in the final played at the ICC Academy, Dubai. The one-sided contest highlighted Pakistan’s outstanding all-round performance, leaving the Indian team completely outplayed.

Batting first after India won the toss and opted to field, Pakistan Under-19 posted a massive total of 347 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Opener Sameer Minhas produced a sensational knock, scoring 172 runs to anchor Pakistan’s innings. His commanding performance decisively shifted the momentum in Pakistan’s favour.

Chasing a daunting target of 348 runs, the India Under-19 side failed to withstand Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack and were bowled out for 156 runs in 26.2 overs. Ali Raza led the bowling charge with an impressive spell, claiming four wickets, while Muhammad Siyam, Abdul Subhan and Jazifa Ahsan chipped in with two wickets each.

Sameer Minhas was named Player of the Match as well as Player of the Tournament for his exceptional contributions. His 172-run innings came off 113 balls and included nine sixes and 17 fours, marking his second century of the tournament. Earlier, he had smashed an unbeaten 177 against Malaysia.

Pakistan built their innings through crucial partnerships. Sameer Minhas added 92 runs for the second wicket with Usman Khan and a vital 137-run stand for the third wicket with Ahmed Hussain. Ahmed Hussain scored 56, Usman Khan made 35, while Farhan Yousaf and Hamza Zahoor contributed 19 and 18 runs respectively. For India, Deepesh Devendran picked up three wickets.

In India’s run chase, Deepesh Devendran top-scored with 36 runs, but the rest of the batting lineup struggled against Pakistan’s relentless bowling.

With this emphatic victory, Pakistan secured the Under-19 Asia Cup title for the second time. Previously, Pakistan and India were declared joint champions in 2012 after the final ended in a tie, making this triumph particularly memorable for the young Pakistani side.
