High-speed diesel rises to Rs400.67 per litre under the daily fuel pricing mechanism, while petrol remains at Rs377.91.
Islamabad, October 30, 2026: The federal government has increased the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs0.85 per litre while maintaining the existing petrol rate under Pakistan’s daily petroleum pricing mechanism.
Following the revision, petrol will remain available at Rs377.91 per litre, while high-speed diesel will cost Rs400.67 per litre, up from Rs399.82.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the revised fuel prices will remain effective until October 30, 2026.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has started publishing daily petroleum prices on its website to improve transparency and enable international oil price movements to be reflected in domestic fuel rates more quickly.
Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said the daily pricing mechanism is based on a seven-day average of international petroleum prices, in line with international practices.
The government introduced daily fuel price reviews amid volatility in global oil markets following renewed hostilities in the Middle East. Previously, petroleum prices were revised fortnightly before the government shifted to weekly reviews after the conflict involving Israel, the United States and Iran escalated.
The conflict disrupted energy markets and raised concerns over oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, a key global route for energy supplies.
Tensions have persisted following the collapse of a fragile ceasefire between Tehran and Washington, fuelling concerns about further disruption to regional energy flows.
Under the daily pricing system, domestic petroleum rates can respond more quickly to changes in international oil prices, potentially leading to more frequent adjustments for consumers.
For now, motorists will continue to pay Rs377.91 per litre for petrol, while diesel consumers face the revised rate of Rs400.67 per litre.
