Ben Duckett’s 167 off 132 balls powers England to victory in Lahore, while Sri Lanka qualify for the tri-series final against Pakistan.

Lahore, October 29, 2026: England defeated Sri Lanka by 55 runs in the sixth match of the ODI Tri-Series 2026 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on Thursday, October 29, ending their campaign on a positive note.

England posted a formidable total of 387 runs, powered by a magnificent innings from Ben Duckett, who smashed 167 off 132 deliveries to earn the Player of the Match award. Tom Banton also contributed a half-century as England’s batters dominated the contest.

Sri Lanka struggled to contain England’s aggressive batting, with Asitha Fernando emerging as one of their more effective bowlers. However, the visitors failed to restrict the scoring sufficiently, leaving Sri Lanka with a daunting target.

In response, Sri Lanka fought hard but were unable to complete the chase. Captain Kusal Mendis led the resistance with an attacking innings, building partnerships with Avishka Fernando and Pavan Rathnayake after an early wicket.

Rathnayake continued his impressive form against England, scoring his second consecutive century against the side. He received support from Janith Liyanage and Sahan Arachchige, but regular wickets at the other end increased the pressure on Sri Lanka.

England’s Liam Dawson played a crucial role with the ball, dismissing key batters, including Dasun Shanaka and Rathnayake. His breakthroughs prevented Sri Lanka from building the momentum required to chase down England’s substantial total.

The victory marked England’s first ODI win in Pakistan since 2005. Although England had already been eliminated from the final race, the result provided a much-needed boost after three consecutive defeats.

Following six round-robin matches, Pakistan finished top of the standings with three victories, while Sri Lanka secured second place with two wins. England finished with one victory.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka will now meet in the tri-series final in Lahore on Saturday, October 31, with both teams competing for the trophy.
