Pakistan gold declines, silver rises on April 11

gold and silver rates update

KARACHI, April 11 – Gold prices in Pakistan declined on Saturday, tracking a dip in international markets, while silver rates edged higher, according to data released by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewelers Association.

In the domestic bullion market, the price of 24-karat gold per tola fell by Rs700 to Rs496,962, while the rate for 24-karat gold per 10 grams dropped by Rs600 to Rs426,064. Similarly, 22-karat gold per 10 grams decreased by Rs550 to Rs390,572, reflecting a downward adjustment in line with global trends.

Internationally, gold prices slipped by $7 per ounce to $4,746, as investors reassessed positions amid shifting macroeconomic signals and easing geopolitical concerns. Market analysts said the slight correction in global bullion prices contributed to the decline in local rates.

In contrast, silver prices posted modest gains in both domestic and international markets. In Pakistan, silver per tola rose by Rs50 to Rs8,064, while the rate per 10 grams increased by Rs43 to Rs6,913. On the global front, silver prices climbed by $0.50 to $75.80 per ounce, supported by steady industrial demand and improving investor sentiment.

Bullion traders noted that fluctuations in precious metal prices continue to be influenced by currency movements, inflation expectations and global economic developments. The local pricing mechanism also reflects exchange rate movements, as domestic bullion rates are linked to international prices through the interbank foreign exchange market.

According to market participants, short-term volatility is likely to persist, with investors closely monitoring global cues and policy signals that may impact demand for safe-haven assets.
