Domestic 24-karat gold falls to Rs465,336 per tola as international bullion prices decline amid geopolitical and inflation concerns
KARACHI, September 1, 2026: Gold prices in Pakistan extended their decline on Tuesday, with the price of 24-karat gold falling by Rs800 per tola amid continued volatility in international bullion markets.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold declined to Rs465,336 per tola, compared with the previous closing of Rs466,136 in the domestic market.
The latest decline marked the third consecutive session of losses for gold prices in Pakistan.
The price of 24-karat gold also fell by Rs686 per 10 grams, dropping to Rs398,950 from Rs399,636 a day earlier.
International gold prices remain under pressure
Bullion market participants attributed the weakness in local gold prices to fluctuations in international markets, where investors continued to assess geopolitical developments, inflation risks and expectations surrounding global interest rates.
Internationally, gold prices also remained under pressure. The metal declined by around $8 per ounce, falling to $4,428 from the previous close of $4,436, according to figures cited by the local bullion market.
Global market volatility has remained elevated amid renewed tensions in the Middle East and concerns over inflation.
International market reports have also pointed to higher US Treasury yields as a factor weighing on gold prices, as rising yields increase the opportunity cost of holding the non-yielding precious metal.
Local gold market tracks global trends
The decline in international gold prices has continued to influence Pakistan’s domestic bullion market, although movements in the rupee-dollar exchange rate and local market conditions also affect gold prices.
With geopolitical tensions and global monetary policy expectations continuing to shift, bullion traders are expected to closely monitor international gold prices for further direction in the domestic market.
For local investors and consumers, further movements in international bullion prices and the exchange rate are likely to remain key factors determining gold rates in Pakistan in the coming sessions.
