Pakistan gold price surges Rs4,700 as international rates rebound

Pakistan’s 24-karat gold price rises to Rs453,036 per tola as international bullion prices recover by $47 an ounce.

Gold prices in Pakistan surged on Friday, with the price of 24-karat gold rising Rs4,700 per tola to Rs453,036, following a sharp recovery in international bullion rates.

According to rates issued by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), gold had closed at Rs448,336 per tola in the previous session. The latest increase followed a similar rebound in global gold prices.

The move came after gold had fallen by Rs5,600 per tola in the previous session, when international bullion prices declined by $56 to $4,258 per ounce.

Gold price rises across standard weights

The price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams increased by Rs4,029, reaching Rs388,404, compared with Rs384,375 at the previous close.

The sharp rise in the domestic market followed an increase in international bullion prices, with local gold rates closely tracking global movements and exchange-rate conditions.

International gold price climbs $47

International gold prices also rebounded strongly on Friday.

The global gold rate increased by $47 per ounce to $4,305, compared with the previous session’s closing rate of $4,258.

The recovery reversed part of the previous session’s decline and was reflected in Pakistan’s domestic bullion market.

Gold market tracks global developments

Gold prices in Pakistan remain sensitive to movements in international bullion markets, the rupee-dollar exchange rate and domestic market conditions.

Market participants continue to monitor geopolitical developments and global monetary-policy signals, which can influence investor demand for precious metals.

The latest increase also came after several consecutive sessions of declines in Pakistan’s domestic gold market, highlighting the volatility currently affecting bullion prices.
