Pakistan host Australia in three-match T20I series ahead of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026

Lahore, January 14, 2026 – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed a three-match T20I series between Pakistan and Australia in Lahore as both teams prepare for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The matches will be held at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium on January 29, January 31, and February 1, 2026, with Australia’s squad arriving a day before the series on January 28.

The series offers both sides an important chance to finalise their playing combinations and adjust to conditions ahead of the World Cup, scheduled to begin on February 7 in India and Sri Lanka. Pakistan will compete in Group A with matches in Sri Lanka, while Australia are in Group B.

Injuries remain a concern for both sides, with Australia’s Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, and Tim David currently in recovery, while Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi continues to recuperate following an injury in the Big Bash League. Despite these challenges, the series promises high-intensity cricket for fans eager for top-level T20 action.

PCB COO Sumair Ahmed Syed welcomed the visiting side, calling the series a marquee event. “We are excited to host Australia in Lahore for this three-match T20I series. It’s a blockbuster start to the year for Pakistan cricket fans, and we encourage everyone to come out and support both teams as they fine-tune for the T20 World Cup,” he said.

The last full Australian tour to Pakistan was in March-April 2022, featuring Tests, ODIs, and a lone T20I. Pakistan and Australia now gear up to clash in Lahore in what promises to be an electrifying buildup to the T20 World Cup.
