Pakistan and India will meet in the Asian Games men’s T20I final on October 3, with both sides chasing gold at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin.

NISSHIN: Pakistan and India will renew their celebrated cricket rivalry on Saturday when they meet in the men’s T20I gold-medal match at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan. The final will be played at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin on October 3.

India booked their place in the final with a commanding 124-run victory over Sri Lanka. Ishan Kishan led the batting effort with an unbeaten 80 from 46 balls as India posted 169 for seven before bowling Sri Lanka out for just 45. Jasprit Bumrah and the spin attack played key roles in the dominant performance.

Pakistan reached the final after defeating Bangladesh by six wickets in a rain-shortened semi-final. Bangladesh made 111 for seven in 13 overs, while Pakistan chased down the target in 11.3 overs. Sufyan Moqim took three wickets, while Abdul Samad finished unbeaten on 30 from 15 balls.

The final is particularly significant for Pakistan, who are appearing in the Asian Games men’s cricket final for the first time. India, meanwhile, are the defending champions after winning gold at the 2023 Asian Games.

Rain has already disrupted the tournament, with all four quarter-finals abandoned. The final is scheduled for October 3, with no reserve day listed in the current tournament schedule.

The match is scheduled to begin at 10:00am local time in Japan.
