Islamabad, May 26, 2025 – The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) has officially launched a nationwide training initiative for government employees under the Google Career Certificates (GCC) program.
This effort aims to equip public sector professionals with in-demand digital skills, aligning Pakistan’s workforce with evolving global standards.
According to a notification issued on Monday, a spokesperson for the MoITT stated that the training program is being launched in collaboration with Google and its local implementation partner, Tech Valley. The initiative seeks to offer access to Google-certified courses that are internationally recognized and designed to provide practical, job-ready skills in high-demand fields.
The Google Career Certificates are structured as flexible online training programs that can be completed in as little as four months, depending on the time dedicated by participants. These courses are developed and delivered by Google experts and are suitable for learners from diverse educational and professional backgrounds.
Courses being offered under this initiative include:
• AI Essentials (8 hours)
• Cybersecurity (182 hours)
• Advanced Business Intelligence (80 hours)
• Advanced Data Analytics (260 hours)
• Data Analysis (180 hours)
• Agile Essentials (10 hours)
• IT Support (110 hours)
• IT Automation (110 hours)
• Digital Marketing and e-Commerce (190 hours)
• User Interface Design (200 hours)
• Project Management (140 hours)
• Prompting Essentials (9 hours)
In this context, the Directorate General of IT & Digital Transformation at the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has nominated a focal person to facilitate participation in the program. FBR employees interested in enrolling have been instructed to register via a dedicated Google form.
The program is part of a broader vision to foster digital transformation in the public sector by upgrading technical competencies through globally acknowledged platforms like Google. By doing so, the government hopes to improve service delivery, promote innovation, and ensure that public institutions remain agile in the face of rapid technological advancement.
