Islamabad, December 18, 2023 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has provided a comprehensive weather forecast for Tuesday, December 19, 2023, indicating prevailing cold and dry conditions in most plain areas of the country and exceptionally chilly temperatures in the northern regions.
According to the PMD, Tuesday’s weather is expected to be predominantly cold and dry in most plain areas, with temperatures dropping significantly in the northern areas. The department also warned of potential fog and smog occurrences during morning and night hours in upper Sindh, plain areas of Punjab, and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
For the current day, Monday, December 18, 2023, the PMD anticipates primarily cold and dry weather in most plain areas, with a sharper cold snap in the northern regions. Similar to the forecast for Tuesday, fog and smog are likely to disrupt visibility in upper Sindh, plain areas of Punjab, and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Providing insights into the synoptic situation, the PMD highlighted that continental air is currently prevailing over the majority of the country. The weather observed over the past 24 hours remained cold and dry across most parts of Pakistan, with the northern regions experiencing very cold and partly cloudy conditions.
