Islamabad, January 26, 2026: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather forecast warning of rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall in multiple regions of the country on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

Weather Forecast for January 27, 2026:

Cloudy weather with intermittent rain and thunderstorms is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, northeast Punjab, and northeast Balochistan. Snowfall is likely over hilly areas, while heavy rain and moderate to heavy snowfall may occur at isolated locations in Kashmir and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Other parts of Pakistan are expected to experience cold and dry conditions.

Most parts of the country experienced cold and cloudy weather. Scattered rain and thunderstorms, with snowfall over hills, were reported in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Heavy rain and moderate to heavy snowfall were recorded in upper regions.

Weather Warnings:

• Snowfall may cause slippery roads and closures in areas including Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Chitral, Murree, Hunza, Skardu, Quetta, Ziarat, and parts of Neelum Valley, among others.

• Landslides and avalanches are possible in hilly regions of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.

• Tourists are advised to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel during this period.

Synoptic Situation:

A westerly wave is currently affecting western and northern parts of Pakistan and is expected to persist in upper regions until January 27.
