According to the Pakistan Met Office, the weather forecast for May 12 indicates predominantly hot and dry conditions prevailing over the majority of Pakistan. However, regions such as upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper/northeastern Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir may experience rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms. Additionally, gusty winds and windstorms are expected in plain areas during the afternoon.
The synoptic situation contributing to these weather patterns involves a westerly wave affecting upper and central parts of Pakistan, which is likely to persist over the next 24 hours.

However, regions including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper/eastern Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir experienced rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Over the past 24 hours, various areas witnessed significant weather events. Rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir, Barkhan, and Kalat. Meanwhile, Sindh province experienced very hot weather in most districts.
Notable rainfall measurements (in millimeters) include 21 mm in Dir (Upper), 20 mm in Sargodha, 16 mm in Islamabad (City), and 15 mm in Joharabad. Additionally, several regions recorded high maximum temperatures, with Jacobabad reaching 48°C, Larkana at 47°C, and Dadu at 46°C.
