Karachi, December 29, 2025 – Pakistan’s local mobile phone manufacturing sector showed steady improvement in November 2025, according to the latest figures released by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
Local mobile phone companies manufactured and assembled 2.49 million units in November 2025, marking an 8% year-on-year increase compared to 2.31 million units in November 2024. Industry experts say the growth reflects a gradual recovery as production levels normalize after an earlier slowdown and excess inventory.
On a cumulative basis, local manufacturing and assembly reached 27.6 million units during the first 11 months of 2025 (11M2025), showing a 3% decline year-on-year. Of this total production, smartphones accounted for 53% (14.51 million units), while 2G feature phones made up 47% (13.09 million units).
During 11M2025, Pakistan met 88% of its mobile phone demand through local production, down from an average of 93% in 10M2025. This reduction was mainly due to higher mobile phone imports following the launch of the Apple iPhone 17, which increased the share of imported devices.
The top locally assembled mobile phone brands in Pakistan during 11M2025 included Infinix, VGO Tel, Vivo, Itel, Tecno, Samsung, Xiaomi, Q Mobile, Realme, and G’Five.
Looking ahead, mobile phone sales in Pakistan are expected to grow by 7–8% year-on-year over the next 12 months, supported by a stable Pakistani rupee, easing inflation, and improving consumer purchasing power. Companies such as Airlink Communication and Lucky Cement are likely to benefit from rising demand through their leading locally assembled brands.
