Islamabad, May 8, 2026 — Pakistan has strongly rejected reports circulating on social media regarding the alleged targeted deportation of Pakistani nationals from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), calling the claims misleading and part of a malicious propaganda campaign.
The Ministry of Interior stated that it had taken notice of speculative reporting appearing in sections of the media and across social media platforms concerning deportations from the UAE. After reviewing available data and details, authorities concluded that the narrative being promoted was false and intended to create unnecessary panic among overseas Pakistanis.
According to the ministry, no country-specific or sect-specific deportation campaign is being carried out by the UAE or any other country against Pakistani nationals. Officials clarified that deportations, where they occur, are part of routine immigration and legal enforcement procedures implemented under the host country’s laws and regulations.
The ministry explained that such actions generally involve visa violations, illegal documentation, overstaying, or breaches of local laws, and should not be interpreted as discrimination against any nationality.
Pakistanis continue to receive UAE work and visit visas
The government also emphasized that Pakistani citizens who meet visa and employment requirements continue to travel to the UAE and other friendly countries without facing discrimination.
Officials noted that work visas and visit visas for eligible Pakistanis remain accessible, dismissing online claims suggesting a blanket restriction or targeted crackdown against Pakistani workers in the Gulf region.
The statement added that fake news and misleading social media posts were being deliberately spread to serve ulterior motives and damage public confidence.
“The propaganda being circulated is fabricated, malicious and contrary to facts,” the ministry said, urging the public to avoid sharing unverified information online.
Pakistan says diplomatic channels remain active
The Ministry of Interior further stated that any issue involving Pakistani nationals abroad is handled through established diplomatic and foreign office channels on a case-to-case basis.
Authorities reaffirmed that Pakistan maintains close coordination with friendly countries, including the UAE, to address consular matters related to overseas Pakistanis.
Officials advised citizens to rely only on official government statements and verified sources for information regarding immigration, visas, and overseas employment matters.
The clarification comes amid growing concern on social media over reports claiming that Pakistani nationals were being selectively deported from the UAE, claims that the government has now categorically denied.
