Pakistan Secure Eight-Wicket Triumph Over India in U19 Asia Cup

Pakistan U19 emerged victorious with an eight-wicket win over India U19 in the fifth game of the ACC U19 Asia Cup.

Opting to field first after winning the toss, Pakistan U19 faced a resilient Indian batting performance. Adarsh Singh’s half-century and a crucial 93-run partnership between Uday Saharan and Singh helped India reach a competitive total of 259-9 in 50 overs. Despite the pressure, Sachin Dhas’ quick fifty added impetus to India’s innings.

Pakistan’s pace attack, led by Mohammad Zeeshan’s four-wicket haul, restricted India’s batting efforts. Amir Hassan and Ubaid Shah also chipped in with two wickets each.

Chasing 260, Pakistan U19 navigated the innings confidently, securing the target in 47 overs with eight wickets in hand. Despite an early setback with the loss of Shamyl Hussain, a formidable 110-run partnership between Shahzaib Khan and Azan Awais set the tone for Pakistan’s successful chase.

Shahzaib’s half-century and captain Saad Baig’s unbeaten 68, complemented by Azan Awais’ stellar century (105 not out), guided Pakistan U19 to victory.

Azan Awais, the standout performer, was rightfully awarded the Player of the Match for his exceptional batting display. With this win, Pakistan U19 maintain a dominant position in the tournament and is set to face Afghanistan U19 on 12 December at the same venue.
