Christchurch, March 14, 2025 – The Pakistan cricket team has arrived in New Zealand for an exciting white-ball series, featuring five T20 Internationals (T20Is) and three One Day Internationals (ODIs).
This much-anticipated series between Pakistan and New Zealand is set to begin on March 16 and will continue until April 5.
The Pakistan T20I squad, led by Agha Salman, touched down in New Zealand on Thursday and is now preparing for their first match against the Michael Bracewell-led Blackcaps. After landing, the players took a day off to recover from the long journey and will resume training at 1 PM local time tomorrow.
This tour marks a significant opportunity for Pakistan, as two promising young cricketers, Abdul Samad and Hasan Nawaz, have earned their maiden call-ups to the national squad. Fans are eager to see how these rising stars perform on New Zealand’s pitches.
Meanwhile, New Zealand has also confirmed its 15-member squad for the T20I series against Pakistan. The squad includes seven players from their recent ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 campaign. Senior spinner Ish Sodhi and fast bowler Ben Sears, who were previously sidelined due to injuries, have been included in the lineup.
Fast bowlers Kyle Jamieson and Will O’Rourke will be available for the first three T20Is, while Matt Henry, the tournament’s top wicket-taker, will join the squad for the final two games.
The last T20I series between Pakistan and New Zealand took place in April 2024, when the Blackcaps visited Pakistan. That five-match series ended in a 2-2 draw, with the first match in Rawalpindi being washed out due to rain.
