Pakistan set to hike petrol, diesel prices from February 16, 2026

Petroleum Prices in Pakistan increase decrease

Islamabad, February 15, 2026 – The government is likely to increase petroleum prices for the next fortnight starting February 16, 2026, affecting commuters and the transport sector.

According to sources, petrol prices may rise by Rs4.39 per liter, moving from Rs253.17 to Rs257.56 per liter. High-speed diesel (HSD) could go up by Rs5.40 per liter, from Rs268.38 to Rs273.78 per liter. Kerosene oil is expected to increase by Rs4 per liter, while light diesel oil (LDO) may see a Rs6.55 per liter hike.

The final decision on the price adjustments will be made by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) in consultation with the Ministry of Finance and the Prime Minister. Earlier, on January 31, the government had raised HSD prices by Rs11.30 per liter, keeping petrol rates unchanged.

Petrol is widely used in small vehicles, rickshaws, and motorcycles, meaning the hike will directly affect middle- and lower-middle-class households who rely on it for daily commuting. HSD, used in trucks, buses, trains, agricultural machinery, and tube wells, has a broader economic impact. Its increased cost may push up food and vegetable prices, adding to inflationary pressures.

The expected rise in petroleum prices is likely to affect household budgets and overall transportation costs, prompting concerns about rising costs of essential goods across the country.
