The Pakistan Shaheens continued their stellar performance in the Top End T20 series by securing their third consecutive win, this time against the Melbourne Renegades at TIO Stadium.

The Shaheens clinched the victory with a four-wicket triumph, reinforcing their position as strong contenders in the tournament.

The Renegades, after opting to bat first, struggled to build momentum against a disciplined Shaheens bowling attack. Their innings never quite took off, and they were eventually restricted to a modest total of 107 runs.

The Shaheens’ bowlers were relentless, with Jahandad Khan emerging as the star of the show. Khan’s impressive spell saw him claim three vital wickets, putting the Renegades on the back foot early in their innings.

He was ably supported by Arif Yaqoob, Mohammad Imran Jnr, and Faisal Akram, who each took two wickets, ensuring that the Renegades’ batting lineup never had the opportunity to settle.

Chasing 108 runs, the Pakistan Shaheens approached their target with a mix of caution and aggression. Opener Usman Khan played a pivotal role in anchoring the innings, scoring a composed 38 runs.

His steady hand at the crease provided the necessary foundation for the chase. Captain Mohammad Haris also played a crucial innings, contributing valuable runs in the middle order. Omair Bin Yousuf added to the total, helping to keep the scoreboard ticking.

Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, the Shaheens remained focused on the target. The tension was palpable as the chase neared its conclusion, but it was Jahandad Khan who stepped up once again, this time with the bat.

With the team needing a few runs to seal the victory, Khan dispatched a powerful six, bringing the match to an emphatic end and securing the win for his team.

This win marks the Pakistan Shaheens’ third victory in the Top End T20 series, further solidifying their position at the top of the table.

Their consistent performances have made them one of the favorites in the tournament. Looking ahead, the Shaheens are set to face Bangladesh ‘A’ in their next match on Friday, where they will aim to continue their unbeaten streak and maintain their dominance in the series.
